The world is a mess and it only seems to be getting messier. Most of the problems can be attributed to the way we humans treat other humans. So, is our humanity part of the problem or part of the solution? To say “I’m only human” is generally used as an excuse for bad behavior, but what if instead of using our humanness as a justification for our mess, we considered a better way to human as the way to bring change to the world around us? Even with Jesus raised, the disciples struggled to figure out what was next for them, and honestly that is our question as well. John 21 offers hints for us as we consider what our life will look like when we live “all in”.

Something was going on that veiled their ability to recognize His true identity. Fortunately, in each instance Jesus persists until they are able to see clearly and this makes all the difference in the world! How easily our identity in Christ can become veiled by our circumstances, yet in the light of Easter we are invited to see ourselves as God intends.
