“Beginning the Gratitude Challenge” Luke 17:11-19
We launch a new initiative; to become more aware of our blessings and to grow in the grace of being Thankful. The Bible highlights a number of ways that a thankful heart leads to a better life (we’ll explore some of these between now and Thanksgiving). So today we begin a new path through gratitude to goodness; how grateful are we, how can we be more aware of God’s goodness, can we develop new habits too?
I accept the 21 day gratitude challenge.

“Enduring Faith” Habakkuk 3:17-19
We wrap up our look at the book of Habakkuk and the struggle of faith in the face of the chaos. The circumstances of life we would like to control. The timing of God we would like to set. The ways of God we would want to understand. While these desires are beyond our grasp, the love of God is still the foundation for our enduring faith.

“Wait and See” Habakkuk 2:1-3
We continue in the book of Habakkuk, and the struggle of faith in the face of the chaos. None of us like to wait, be it in traffic or in a line at the store. But waiting on God can be a very difficult trial to walk through. Yet this is exactly what Habakkuk (and we) are asked to do.

“Can You Hear Me Now?” Habakkuk 2:1
Today we continue in the book of Habakkuk, and the struggle of faith in the face of the chaos. The dialogue in Habakkuk starts with the prophets crying out to God, but continues with God’s response to him. Most of us find it easy to talk, more difficult to listen, especially when it comes to prayer. If prayer is a dialogue, how can we listen better?

“The Struggle is Real” Habakkuk 1
Today we’ll begin to look at the book of Habakkuk, one of the minor prophets in the Old Testament. This oft overlooked book is about a man (a prophet) who struggled with his faith in the face of the chaos that filled the world around him. These next few weeks are intended to be much more than a history lesson of someone who struggled long ago, but also an honest look at the struggles we face today.

“The Perfect Church” (H.W.L.) 1st John 4:7-12
What would make the ideal church for you? The building, the doctrine, the musical style, the tradition, the organization, the ministries offered, etc.? Any of these aspects in various degrees could cause us to consider a church ideal “for us”, but what would make a perfect church in God’s mind and can we become that church?

Do we allow ourselves to step out into faith? There is no failure for those who step out in faith. The only failure is when we live in fear and do not follow God.

“Put Me in Coach!” 1st Corinthians 12:4-7
The New Testament paints a picture of a healthy church being like a body, a body which is most healthy when each part recognizes it is needed and plays it’s part. What is one thing that could make our church a healthier representation of Jesus for the world? Each of us holds that answer.
