“Always and Everywhere” Acts 1:1-8
We are invited to a life of purpose, but it is easy to lose focus along the way. The world around us doesn’t help; it offers busy-ness that does not fulfill, it fills space but not meaning. Jesus offers us more.

Doing the Impossible Series: “The Power of Love (part 3) Matthew 5:43:48
They say “love makes the world go around” and it’s true, but can it do the impossible? It’s one thing to love those who are lovable, but what about those who are our enemy? Is that even humanly possible? Can we be feed from the toxic spiritual effects that hate grows in our souls? Can forgiveness lead to enabling love to change our lives? This is the amazing power of love.

The Power of Love 1st Corinthians 13
They say “love makes the world go around” and it’s true, though not for the reasons we most often think. It’s true because “God is love” (1 John 4:8) and not only does He make all things go but He also meets our deepest needs. Jesus was asked what is the most important thing (the greatest commandment) that we can do? He said “love,” but what does it mean to love God with all your heart?

The Power of Love 1st Corinthians 13
They say “love makes the world go around” and it’s true, though not for the reasons we most often think. It’s true because “God is love” (1 John 4:8) and not only does He make all things go but He also meets our deepest needs. The Bible’s “love chapter” offers us a definition of what love is (and what it is not), but even more it invites us to live in the awareness that we are loved. It is this love that makes our world go around!

Part 4 of the New Year sermon series:
Wise People Still Seek Him “Desperate Times...”
Mark 5:21-34
Pain, what do we do with it? What does it do to us? Part of our shared human experience is that we all must deal with pain from time to time; physical, emotional, relational or spiritual. The difference comes down to whether it draws us nearer to the source of help, or drives us in a different direction. Today we continue our look at those who were the first “seekers” of Jesus and consider a woman isolated by her ailment, driven by her desperation.

Wise People Still Seek Him Matthew 2:1-12
Happy New Year! We have a clean slate as the calendar turns, but so what? Will it be different, can we really make lasting changes, could God do something extraordinary in the 12 months ahead? Many don’t bother with making resolutions since we’ve broken most that we’ve attempted in the past, but perhaps this year we take steps to draw closer to Jesus. Resolution or not, we can choose to seek Him more intentionally this year, not quit if we make a misstep and make room for God to make 2019 something special for us. Like the Magi of ancient times, it begins by getting started with small steps in the right direction.
