Mary mistook Jesus for the gardener outside the tomb that first Easter morning. As that day began to dawn, Jesus clarified her misunderstanding with grace and an amazing revelation. You can’t blame her for the mistake, we not only still mistake His identity, but we also often miss what our true identity is. Again, He meets us with grace and an amazing revelation. Easter invites us to not only see Him for who He is, but to rightly see ourselves in the light of Him.

The purpose of the season of Lent is to help us center our lives on what matters most, but we are so easily distracted. Through the “temptations of Jesus” we find Keys to helping us get beyond ourselves to discover the fullness God intends for us. Today we seek to recognize that many of our temptations aren’t overtly evil, but merely settling for something we think is not so bad (taking the path of least resistance).
